Once or twice a year we gather all the friends together for a fun evening of friendship and cocktails. To control your stress level, mom taught me to always make sure that at least half of the items for a large cocktail party can be made ahead and frozen, which you can do here with the Spicy Chicken, Clam Rolls, Cheddar Chutney Tarts, Cheddar Dill Scones and all of the cookies.

Passed hors d’oeuvres:

  • Spicy Chicken on Pita Triangles (p.16, A Well-Seasoned Kitchen)
  • Toasted Clam Rolls (p.17, A Well-Seasoned Kitchen)
  • Cheddar Chutney Tarts (p.15, A Well-Seasoned Kitchen)
  • Veggie Fries with Garlic Aioli (p.202, A Well-Seasoned Kitchen)

On the dining table:

  • Smoked Salmon and Goat Cheese Torte (p.20, A Well-Seasoned Kitchen)
  • Cheddar Dill Scones (p.18, A Well-Seasoned Kitchen) stuffed with ham and honey mustard
  • Cilantro Mousse
  • Spicy Chicken Wings
  • Purchased assorted cheeses with crackers and fruit

On a side table:

  • Cheesecake Squares (p.250, A Well-Seasoned Kitchen)
  • Nama’s Lemon Love Notes (p.252, A Well-Seasoned Kitchen)
  • Chocolate Coconut Pecan Bars (p.258, A Well-Seasoned Kitchen)
