I found this recipe for a Snowblower Cocktail in one of mom’s kitchen files, which was surprising, since she wasn’t one for serving specialty cocktails. However, I’m so happy I found it, because it’s the perfect warm pick-me-up on a cold winter evening. Cranberry juice and apple cider are steeped in cinnamon and cloves, then topped off with a shot of rum – YUM. So cuddle up by the fire with your honey, and enjoy!

Mom’s Snowblower Cocktail is the perfect warm pick-me-up on a cold winter evening. Cranberry juice and apple cider are steeped in cinnamon and cloves, then topped off with a shot of rum – YUM. (Can also be made without the rum.)

  • Yield: 6 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups cranberry juice cocktail
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1/2 teaspoon whole cloves
  • 1 cinnamon stick (around 2 to 3 inches)
  • 6 ounces rum
  • fresh orange or lemon slices, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large saucepan, stir together the cranberry juice, cider, cloves and cinnamon. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes. Strain. Serve hot in a mug or preheated glass and add a shot of rum per serving. Garnish with orange or lemon slice (on the rim of the mug/glass or floating on the top).
