Easy Easter Brunch Recipes to Build Your Own Menu

In the Clayton family, Easter was always a full day of traditions, including morning church, Easter egg hunts, and opening our baskets, followed by a festive meal with extended family.

Over time, our celebration shifted from a sit-down dinner to a more relaxed, make-ahead brunch – and honestly, I’ve never looked back. Brunch is now my favorite kind of entertaining: elegant, delicious, and wonderfully low-stress.

How to Plan an Easter Brunch

Planning an Easter brunch menu doesn’t have to be complicated. With a little balance and a bit of advance prep, you can create a menu that feels both relaxed and special.

  • How many dishes to serve: Plan for 1 appetizer, 1 to 2 main dishes (a mix of savory and sweet), 1 to 2 sides, and a dessert. This gives guests plenty of choice without overwhelming your table – or you.
  • Balance the menu: Include a mix of flavors, colors, and textures – something savory, something sweet, something crunchy, something fresh, and something a little indulgent. This keeps the meal interesting and satisfying.
  • Think about timing: Since Easter morning often includes church and other activities, choose mostly dishes that can be prepared ahead, with just one or two that need to go in the oven or be assembled before serving.

Free Easter Brunch Planner

If you’d like a little extra help staying organized, I’ve created an Easter brunch menu planner you can print and use as you prepare for your gathering.

It includes a simple timeline to map out what to make 3 to 4 days ahead, the day before, and the morning of, along with space for your guest list – so everything stays organized, and nothing gets overlooked.

Make-Ahead Tips for a Relaxed Easter Brunch

One of the reasons I love serving brunch for Easter is how much can be prepared in advance. Many of these recipes can be made a day or two ahead, and some can even be frozen, so you’re not doing everything at the last minute.

Since Easter morning often includes church, egg hunts, and guests arriving soon after, there’s usually very little time for last-minute cooking. As you plan your menu, aim for a balance of dishes that are fully prepared ahead, along with just one or two that can go in the oven or be assembled quickly before serving. That way, you can enjoy the morning alongside your guests.

To build your menu, choose one or two recipes from each category below.

Easter Brunch Appetizer Ideas

Start your menu with something small and flavorful to enjoy while guests gather. These options come together easily and set the tone for a relaxed, welcoming brunch.

Bagels with Egg Salad and Smoked Salmon

Creamy, savory, and easy to assemble, these make a polished yet effortless start to brunch. They’re always a big hit—after all, who doesn’t love egg salad?
Tip: Use mini bagels for easy, two-bite servings.

Mini Cheddar Dill Scones

Tender and buttery with a hint of dill, these are delicious on their own or split and filled for a more substantial bite. A slightly unexpected option that feels right at home on a spring table.

Savory Brunch Recipes

These savory main dishes provide the heart of the meal – warm, satisfying, and easy to serve buffet-style. Choose one of these casseroles as your anchor.
